Darmstadt, July 23, 2007 Relaxed parking in Darmstadt No more searching for small change, no more overpaid parking time or picking up annoying parking tickets because you’ve come back just two minutes too late. Precise to the minute, convenient and safe – park in relaxed style with your mobile in the centre of Darmstadt! Pursuant to a decision of the Magistrate dated 18 July 2007, as of today the citizens of Darmstadt can use an innovative mobile parking service! In cooperation with the science city of Darmstadt, REA Mobile is starting the first mobile service in this field with ‘Parken per Handy’. The project will be scientifically monitored by Dr. Petra Schäfer of the Centre for integrated Traffic Systems (ZIV) at the TU Darmstadt. If you wish to book your parking space via your mobile, you can register your vehicle(s) free of charge at www.parken-per-handy.de or on 06154-638-1250, and ensure that parking becomes more relaxed. You only need to register once. To start the parking process, you just need to call the number displayed in the respective parking zone. The parker then receives an SMS to confirm the parking process, which informs you of the time of commencement of parking, the longest permissible parking time and the parking rate at the respective zone. To end the parking process, you simply call the number again – and this call is also free of charge!! Accounting is made conveniently and securely by means of direct debiting. All parking procedures can of course be inspected in an updated and transparent form at www.parken-per-handy.de in a protected personal section. REA Mobile AG, a company of the REA Group, develops transaction solutions based on conventional mobile telephones. The focus is on payment, ticketing and customer loyalty via the mobile phone. The business field of mobile transactions is gaining ever more significance in Germany, especially in the sector of parking space management and local public transport.
