REA Mobile presents mobile Payment at the Wincor World 2007

REA Mobile AG demonstrates payment at a standard checkout system with the aid of a new mobile wallet, at one of the most important trade fairs for banks and the commercial trade. The special feature is that communication between the REA Terminal and the Wincor Nixdorf checkout is realised via an O.P.I (Open Payment Interface).

Wincor Nixdorf and REA Mobile develop solutions together for the operating of financial transactions at ATMs and checkout systems via mobile telephone. After cash withdrawal at ATMs was successfully implemented last year, this year payment at a checkout system with a mobile wallet is shown.

The basis of this is again the Java programme (rea-dy client) developed by REA Mobil AG, which enables various transactions via mobile phone. Safe transactions are executed with the aid of adjustable, dynamic codes.

»Recent studies reveal that there is a great willingness in Germany to pay via mobile phone. However, missing standards at the place of acceptance as well as user-unfriendly and unsafe technology inhibit many users. The connection of simple mobile programmes and qualified conduct at existing checkout solutions is certainly an important step in the right direction, both for traders and end users,« says Dietmar Neidig, Board member at REA Mobile AG with regard to current market developments in this sector.
