Foundation of REA Mobile AG

Following the development of the company’s own mobile technologies, the REA Group decided upon the foundation of a new subsidiary. In future, REA Mobile AG is set to exploit the potential of mobile communications and services for the benefit of the corporate family and – in the process – take over the technology of FunkTicket AG, the company who had previously developed the first mobile solutions for REA.

As the market leader in Germany, REA develops, produces and sells cashless payment systems from the company home in Mühltal near Darmstadt. Across Germany, the number of customers using the services now exceeds 11,000. The modular approach adopted by REA Mobile AG means that new and innovative ways can be found to use the 75,000 REA terminals which have already been installed.

With the aid of the two product lines »rea-dy client« and »rea-dy suite«, tailor-made solutions can be developed for any customer. The aim is to combine a large number of safe mobile phone transactions with varying content. With the expansion of their mobile division, the REA Group is now taking another step to fulfill the company motto: Innovation made in Germany.
