Mühltal, April 4, 2007 REA Mobile wins the Innovation Prize 2007 The Initiative Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SME), declares the customer loyalty product, ‘rea-dy suite’, as Category Winner for Mobile Business. The German Initiative for SME and the Huber Publishing Company for New Media awards prizes each year in 3 categories, with a total value of 150,000 Euros, for products and applications from information and communications technology and the high-tech sector, which contribute to SMEs becoming even more competitive. The focus is on creative and practical ideas which are characterized by the products and new approaches to solutions. The winner in the category, Mobile Business, was ‘rea-dy suite’ from REA Mobile AG. It won from a pool of more than 1,200 entries, and was singled out as one of the most innovative and interesting solution for SMEs. Swift implementation without investment expenditure The solution, rea-dy suite, enables all EC cash terminals in the trade to use the mobile phones of their customers as a means of payment, and especially as a means of enhancing customer loyalty. Every small trader can execute bonus programmes and direct marketing actions with his customers with minimum expenditure. All that is required is a software update of the EC cash terminal. “As market leader in cashless payment transactions in this section with our company, REA Card GmbH, we know the requirements of customers very well, and have integrated these into the solution by way of continuous coordination with the target group”, says Dietmar Neidig, Board member at REA Mobile AG. “When developing their solutions, many companies just look for the ‘big fish’ in the segment, but the smaller companies are often neglected. We handle this potential in an active and target-group oriented manner. 14,000 customers with more than 75,000 terminals (REA Card GmbH) provide impressive evidence for the correctness of this strategy”, explains Neidig. In addition to solution developments of mLoyalty and mPayment, REA Mobile AG also handles the issue of mTicketing, especially in the fields of parking and of public transport (ÖPNV). An approach independent of technology is applied here, meaning that the solutions can run via the internal terminal infrastructure, or via photo-scanner and NFC (Near Field Communication).
